Coaching
People come to coaching when they feel stuck or on the verge of something new.
This might show up as:
- Trying to bring a new idea, creation or vision to life.
- The usual ways of relating to others or solving problems aren’t working.
- Their leadership style needs updating or certain behaviors or attitudes are getting in their way.
- Needing a “thought partner” and support in the sometimes stressful and lonely role as an executive.
- Feeling stuck with a project or in a life transition.
- Grappling with climate and other disruptions and how to engage productively.
- And sometimes the challenge is more about how to live and lead within a context that limits a person’s genius – or how to move on from it.
If you can relate to any of the above, you are not alone.
These common yet very personal experiences can be doorways to growth, creativity and greater fulfillment.
Coaching provides a safe and courageous space to explore what you truly desire and what is holding you back. It is different from mentoring, therapy or consulting. Coaching is present and future focused and is about evoking new awareness that leads to new action and new results. And maybe most importantly, coaching asserts that you are already resourceful, creative and whole. I wholeheartedly believe this too.
What I bring:
- Experience.
- Warm-hearted intuitive flow plus theory, rigor and structure.
- Ability to work with emotion and complexity.
- Advanced training in Climate Change Coaching.
- Advanced training in habit change and somatics. Somatics includes tapping into the wisdom and resiliency of the body. Our minds are not limited to our brains and there is enriching information to be found in simple movements or in listening to the heart. Habit change is made more easily and more sustainably when we include body-based practices. Most of my clients find great enhancement from our “somatic experiments” and practices in our coaching. Whether or not you choose to experiment with somatics, I invite your wholeness to our sessions, including fears, blocks, uncertainties, visions, celebrations and triumphs.
How it Works:
1.
We meet for a 30-minute complimentary exploratory session to see if what I offer matches what you are looking for.
If we decide to coach together, I send you a Questionnaire to prime the pump for our work together.
2.
We then meet for our Foundation Session where we get to know better what’s truly important to you and more clearly define your goals and your measures of success.
After that, I create a personalized Guide to serve as a “north star” for our work together. Very few coaches offer this, but my clients find it very useful.
3.
Every session ends with new insight and new actions or experiments.
And so it goes! Accelerated awareness-building and inner shifts that lead to new actions and ways of being that provide new, satisfying results.
How long do we work together?
If you are being sponsored by your organization: 6 months.
The sponsored coaching package includes three sessions with me, you and your organization’s sponsor at the beginning, middle and end of the coaching engagement. If you want to continue after the 6 months, we can engage another 6-month program or switch to month to month coaching.
If you are coming to coaching without a sponsor: Variable.
I ask for a verbal commitment of 3 months beyond the Foundation Session. I will charge you month-to-month. The median time-frame for coaching and reaching two or three specific outcomes is 5 or 6 months. We’ll meet twice a month for 45-60 minute sessions. The time needed to do fieldwork between sessions varies; we design it to fit your life. Some clients choose to continue coaching for a year or more to have the safe and courageous space to meet life’s challenges and possibilities.

Are you curious about coaching but probably don’t want to engage in monthly sessions? Do you have a topic that might need just one session to create a shift?
You will leave with new insights and, more importantly, a way to apply that insight to keep the process alive. Sometimes that’s all it takes.
My coaching is both rigorous and fluid, based in extensive training, years of coaching experience, a master’s degree in behavior change and a love of people and the work. If you are serious about making positive change, I’d love to talk with you.
